How to replace/change boot animation?

    How to replace/change boot animation?

    How do you replace/change the boot animation?
    I've tried pushing bootanimation.zip to /data/local using adb and it did not "take".

    Shortest explanation: You need root access.

    All local files/folders on the phone are read only so until you have root, what you're trying can't be done.

    iTylerA is correct. The steps you are trying to follow here tell you to remount the partition as read/write. Since there is no root access for the Backflip, this part cannot be done.
