How can I temporarily disable data roaming to save on Data?

I'm on a 1GB data plan, and I'm worried about going over that within a month, because I'm always connected to 3G - which, my "happenings" (facebook and such) is constantly updating (using data I guess) - I connect to the WIFI in my house to avoid using my Data..

So, in what other ways can I temporarily disable using the internet on my phone? Though I use it quite a few times a day and such..

I tried disabling the "Data Roaming" under Mobile Network Settings - but it still allows me into the internet, and still automatically updates facebook status's and such.

You would want to install Quick Settings which allows you to disable mobile data.

I installed Quick Settings. What an easy way to turn everything on and off.

You should be able to just run Quick Settings and click the toggle for Mobile Data.
