AT&T moto flipside no data plan

hey I bought a AT&T moto flipside with motoblur for 20$. now I took the phone in and they sied that you NEED the retard data plan. however I read online you can have android without that ritch-person plan. however they sied if I remove my sim card from my dumb-phone and put it into my smart-phone that they do a daily check and the data plan whould be added automatically with no warrning. now I have a "rare" plan with the alltell mycircle thing and that is loast with no recovery they sied if it dose that. however is there a way to "acivate" my newly obtaind droid without the data plan that won't be detected by their "checks"

I got the phone working as a gaming device. I understand with most androids texting is screwd without a data plan but my sevice dosent have texting anyway so I don't care about that. any help would be appreciated thanks. apparently I read you can spoof this IMEI number how do you do that? im running 2.1 update 1, also will AT&T be able to detect a spoofed phone?

This is really pretty simple: Smartphones are smartphones BECAUSE they have access to data! There is almost no reason to have a smartphone without data.

Given these simple truths, we don't allow discussion of how to defeat the use of data plans, nor to spoof IMEI's. I'm sure there are those who will help you defeat AT&T's system checks; but you won't find them here.
