ROM Manager and Bootloader 3e???
Hi. Cry for Help... ROM Manager and Bootloader 3e???
I'm a Total Noob. I've read (I hope) everything I can get my hands on about rooting process for Captivate. I've run into a problem because I bought the phone used and already rooted / upgraded to Froyo 2.2 I897UCJI6 Kernal 2.6.32.9 jetaek.lee@sep-11 #1 Build FROYO.UCJI6 (here's capture)

I seem to be having trouble with Clockwork: (I have a good phone now and want a plan B for when I screw it up...)
Using ROM Manager v4.3.0.1
-Flash ClockWorkMod Recovery: Confirm Phone Model (Galaxy S Captivate) - "Successfully download ClockworkMod recovery" [OK]
-Backup Current ROM: Backup Name <20110530-13.08.17> [OK]
AT&T Worldphone Screen
BLUE text "Android System Recovery <3e> / Samsung Recovery Utils / - for BML - /
I select "reinstall packages" and after progress bar hits about 20% red text appears with:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
HELP - what have I missed, overlooked, forgotten or just failed to "GET" in this process? I won't try any mods past this point unless I'm sure I've got a fallback position to recover to.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer, including RTFI (if you point to the line I've missed).

Cass59,
When I reboot into recovery (using the menu from holding down my power button), I get red text with text at the top saying something about CWM recovery version.
Since you have blue text, maybe you haven't booted into CWM?

Hi. I hope that my question is not changing the subject of this thread. If so, I apologize. I have to return my Samsung Captivate to the AT&T Store right away (my 1 year is almost up). I will get a replacement phone because the speaker doesnt work. But I have rooted and unlocked the phone. In addition, I have changed the default Rom to Ultimate Rom. I want to change back to the original Rom so that the rep will not tell me that I have voided the warranty by changing the Rom (and therefore I cannot get another phone). Is the above method what I need to do to put back the original rom? Also, do you think that they will know that the phone is rooted? I am not very educated in these matters (I paid someone to do everything on my phone). I need to go today (12/1/11). Can someone please help me? Thank you! I forgot to mention that I do not have any backup on my phone or sd card. arnele@mailinator.com

I know I've seen the answer to this somewhere but I can't find it now...
I downloaded and installed Rom Manager (free) from the market, when I choose "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" the Captivate isn't listed. Instead I see...
"
Google Nexus S
Google Nexus S 4G
Samsung Epic4G
Samsung GalaxyS i9000
"
Rom manager version v5.0.0.6 free version is what I have installed.
