Dell Thunder Android Phone Coming Q4 to AT&T?

Dell seems to have quite the list of Android powered devices coming out over the next several months. Today Engadget broke a story of the new Dell Thunder which looks to be loaded with some hefty specs and could be available as early as Q4 of this year!

• 4.1-inch WVGA OLED Screen
• Android 2.1
• Dell "Stage UI"
• Swype
• Flash 10.1
• 1GZ Snapdragon CPU
• Integrated Hulu App
• 8 megapixel camera

That looks like a really good phone. Of course it would be running 2.1 and not 2.2.

I like the looks, i just don't like the custom UI. Can't we have just a straight, android UI?

Because every phone company wants to make their own phone unique hardware and software wise.

The only phones which are straight "Android OS" are the Google experience phones, such as the original Droid (I believe is stock) and the Nexus One. That's because Google mandates it for those phones. Otherwise, the manufacturers are free to do what they want.

This may start to change as Android begins getting a better UI. I think Motorola may be trending this way with "Ninjablur" on some of its new phones.
